During the time of an exhibition¹, fifty transparent bags filled with one kilo of sand each have been sent from Switzerland to Germany by post, where the exhibition was taking place. Because of the non-existence of a proper postal address and its location in the harbor area, the sandbags arrived with difficulties and were delayed. Whenever a bag arrived, the sand had to be removed in front of the space that was already surrounded by sand. For more than fifty years, the site has been used as a warehouse and transshipment center for mineral oil products, scrap metal, and goods such as sand, gravel, and coal. The emptied envelopes were displayed in the exhibition.
